IT IS WRITTEN
The Power of the Spoken Word
Spiritual warfare is not fiction. It is not a distant theory. It is a daily reality for every believer in Christ. You do not have to be a prophet or a pastor to engage in battle — if you are born of God, then you are automatically enlisted in a war against the forces of darkness.
But the good news is this: you are not powerless. You have been given a divine weapon that hell cannot resist and heaven will always defend — the spoken Word of God.
From the beginning of creation to the final defeat of Satan, God’s strategy has always involved speech.
- “And God said…” (Genesis 1:3) — and the universe obeyed.
- “Jesus said, ‘It is written…’” (Matthew 4:4) — and the devil fled.
- “Speak to this mountain…” (Mark 11:23) — and it will move.
Words are not empty. In the spiritual realm, words are weapons.
Why Silence is Defeat
Many believers read the Bible silently, believe in its promises, and even memorise Scripture. Yet, they live in fear, defeat, and bondage. Why? Because they do not speak the Word.
When the Word of God is spoken aloud with faith, conviction, and understanding, it becomes a sword in your mouth and a fire in the spirit realm.
Jesus Himself gave us the blueprint when He faced Satan in the wilderness. He did not remain silent. He did not reason with evil. He did not debate with the enemy. He opened His mouth and declared, “It is written.”
That phrase was not just information — it was a declaration of divine authority. Each time Jesus spoke, the adversary lost ground.
What “It Is Written” Means for You
Declaring “It is written” is not about reciting words mechanically; it is about releasing God’s eternal truth into a present situation. It is aligning your voice with heaven’s authority.
When you say “It is written,” you:
- Remind the devil of his defeat.
- Reinforce your victory in Christ.
- Silence lies with truth.
- Activate the promises of God over your life.
The Word of God in your mouth carries the same authority as when Jesus spoke it. That is why Satan fears a believer who knows and declares Scripture.

Practical Warfare with the Word
This is not a theoretical message — it is a practical warfare manual. In warfare, silence is surrender. God did not give you His Word just to read it; He gave it to you to speak it, declare it, and wield it.
Here are steps to practice:
- Identify the Battle — Is it fear, sickness, temptation, or financial lack?
- Find the Scripture — What has God already said about that issue?
- Speak It Aloud — Declare it with boldness, not whispering in doubt.
- Repeat Consistently — Victory often requires persistence.
- Mix with Faith — Believe that God’s Word is the final authority.
When you align your mouth with heaven’s truth, you become unstoppable.
Rise and Declare
Get ready to break chains.
Get ready to tear down strongholds.
Get ready to take territories.
This is your moment to rise with the Word of God in your mouth and declare with boldness:
“It is written.”
